Earlier this year I was saddened to hear about the death of Professor Susan Lindquist. Sue was a leading figure in the world of protein biophysics for almost fourty years, and her work lays the foundations, both directly and indirectly, for much of what I do. We wrote a tribute to her in the most recent IDP State Letter, which can be read here.
I reached out to a number of friends I know who had spent time working with Sue, either as graduate students or postdocs, who provided me with some wonderful insight into Sue's mentoring style and what life in the lab was really like. A huge loss for the scientific community, Sue will be sorely missed by many.
